1 Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Avenue 280 in Tulare County

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (February 29, 2024) — A woman died in a 2-car accident on Avenue 280 near Road 148.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a 27-year-old woman parked on the eastbound shoulder of Avenue 280 made a U-turn in front of an oncoming eastbound Chevrolet. Subsequently, the eastbound 2010 Chevrolet, moving about 15 mph, struck the left side of the woman’s 2014 Nissan, which crossed the Chevrolet’s path.
 
Shortly after, emergency personnel arrived and found the Nissan with significant left-side damage and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, with fatal injuries. As for the 61-year-old operating the Chevrolet, he reported only minor injuries.
 
At the time of the report, traffic investigators could not confirm if alcohol or drugs factored into the cause. However, an investigation should prove any outstanding details.
