12-Year-Old Derick Gramajo Struck, Killed by Car at Vernon Avenue and Wadsworth Avenue

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 6, 2024) — Derick Gramajo was hit and killed by a driver at Vernon Avenue and Wadsworth Avenue.
 
According to reports, the fatal pedestrian accident happened April 18 around 3:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck 12-year-old Derick Sanchez Gramajo as he was walking home from Carver Middle School. Subsequently, the driver pulled over and waited for the authorities to arrive. Soon after, paramedics arrived, but the child passed away from his injuries.
 
To garner help, the family created a GoFundMe page to pay for his lawyer and medical fees. They also believe that the intersection, which draws dozens of accidents, could have had proper safety measures put in place.
