Two Dead in Head-On Accident on 215 Freeway [Riverside, CA]

RIVERSIDE, CA (March 18, 2022) — Two people died in a head-on accident on 215 Freeway in Riverside on Tuesday, March 15.
 
At about 12:30 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers received reports of a car driving the wrong way on the northbound side of the highway.
 
Shortly after, a Ford Focus and Ford Fusion crashed head-on near Center Street in the Highgrove area of Riverside.
 
Both drivers, a man and a woman, died at the scene. Officials have not yet released their names. There were no other passengers in the cars, CHP said.
 
Authorities closed all lanes for several hours after the collision.
