Small Airplane Crashes on Dog Bar Road in Nevada County Killing 2 People

 
NEVADA COUNTY, CA (February 22, 2023) – A pilot and a passenger were killed in a small plane crash on Dog Bar Road Sunday afternoon on February 19.
 
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the crash in the 20,000 block of Dog Bar Road around 1:26 p.m. The plane went down in a field between Colfax and Alta Sierra.
 
The sheriff’s office said the pilot and passenger of the plane both died at the scene. Their identities will not be released until they are confirmed by the coroner and next of kin has been notified.
 
Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are handling the investigation.
