Man Dies in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run on P Street in Central Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 13, 2022) – A male pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident on P Street on Sunday evening.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident happened on September 11 at about 10:45 p.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle hit the victim in the 700 block of P Street.
 
Emergency crews transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was declared dead Monday morning. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
As per reports, the driver of the vehicle immediately fled the area.
 
Investigators described the suspect vehicle as a black sedan with damage on the front driver’s side. Officers also believe that speed was a factor in the fatal hit-and-run.
