Wounded Man Crashes Head-On into Another Car on North Long Beach Boulevard in Compton and Dies

 
COMPTON, CA (September 4, 2023) – A man was killed in a head-on crash on North Long Beach Boulevard in Compton Saturday afternoon on September 2.
 
The fatality was reported at 12:58 p.m. near the 1400 block of North Long Beach Boulevard, just north of Rosecrans Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the man was shot in the upper body while driving at the intersection of Bullis Road and Rosecrans Avenue.
 
The man continued a short distance until crashing head-on into another vehicle. He was the only occupant of his car.
 
Arriving deputies located two vehicles at the scene. They also found the victim with gunshot wounds to his upper torso and pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken by paramedics to a hospital for treatment.
 
There was no suspect information immediately available.

Homicide detectives were summoned to conduct a crime scene investigation.
