Pedestrian Pushing Shopping Cart Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Camino De La Reina

 
MISSION VALLEY, CA (September 4, 2023) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Camino de la Reina in the Mission Valley East neighborhood of San Diego early Saturday morning.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado struck the man in the 700 block of Camino de la Reina around 1:50 a.m. on September 2. The victim was pushing a shopping cart mid-block across the street at the time and was not in a marked crosswalk.
 
The man suffered major head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the Silverado was a 27-year-old man.
