DUI Driver Causes Crash on Christmas Eve in Fairfield Killing 62-Year-Old Man

 
FAIRFIELD, CA (January 1, 2023) – Henry Blank died on Christmas Eve after a DUI crash in Fairfield.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Clay Bank Road and East Tabor Avenue. According to the Fairfield Police Department, the 62-year-old victim from Vacaville was driving through the intersection with two passengers. Another driver sped through a stop sign and struck their vehicle.
 
As a result, Blank suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. His two passengers, a Fairfield man and a Vacaville woman, had moderate injuries.
 
Police identified the other driver as Dominic Lyons. They arrested him for a vehicular manslaughter charge. They also determined that Lyons was drunk at the time of the crash.
 
An investigation is still ongoing.
