Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Car on Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton

 
FULLERTON, CA (April 28, 2024) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident at Orangethorpe Avenue and Campus Drive in Fullerton on Thursday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:05 p.m. on April 25. According to the Fullerton Police Department, a black Dodge Journey, driven by a 19-year-old Buena Park resident, was traveling eastbound Orangethorpe Avenue at an unknown speed. At the same time, the adult male bicyclist was heading in an unknown direction on Orangethorpe Avenue.
 
For unknown reasons, the Dodge struck the bicyclist.
 
First responders found the bicyclist in the roadway with traumatic injuries. They attempted saving him, but he died at the scene.
 
The Orange County Coroner withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the Dodge stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
