DUI Crash on Highway 201 in Tulare County Injures Five, Suspect Arrested

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (January 10, 2024) – Five people were injured and a woman was arrested in a DUI crash on Highway 201 in Tulare County Monday afternoon on January 8.
 
The crash happened around 2:00 p.m. at Road 84. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda was traveling eastbound on the highway approaching Road 84. At the same time, a Mazda was heading westbound approaching Road 84.
 
For unknown reasons, the Honda turned directly into the path of the Mazda and the two vehicles collided.
 
The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the highway and travel onto the west dirt shoulder. As a result, the 30-year-old female driver of the Honda and her three passengers all suffered major injuries.
 
One of the six passengers in the Mazda sustained minor injuries.
 
Officers arrested the driver of the Honda for allegedly driving under the influence.
 
Alcohol was a contributing factor in this crash. Further investigation is underway.
