Khailyn Garcia Dies, Isabella Ortega Detained in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Accident at Garey Avenue and Center Avenue

 
POMONA, CA (January 11, 2024) — Khailyn Garcia died in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash at Gary Avenue and Center Avenue.
 
According to the Pomona Police Department, the fatal accident happened on New Year’s Day. For an unknown reason, 20-year-old Isabella Ortega left the scene after hitting 23-year-old Garcia, a mother of a 6-month-old boy. Shortly after, paramedics arrived and took her to a hospital where she passed away.
 
With the help of an investigation, officers arrested Ortega, booking her on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury or death and vehicular manslaughter.
