2 Die in Hit-and-Run 2-Vehicle Crash at 73rd Avenue in Oakland
OAKLAND, CA (September 26, 2023) — A man and a woman died in a hit-and-run 2-car accident at 73rd Avenue and Holly Street.
According to Oakland police, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 10:00 a.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a 25-year-old Oakland man operating a stolen Lexus out of Daly City was traveling at a high rate of speed. Subsequently, the Lexus collided with the passenger side of a second car turning left onto Holly Street from 73rd Avenue South.
Upon impact, the second car rolled over and struck a parked vehicle, killing the 64-year-old Richmond driver and his 67-year-old female passenger from Antioch. A rear-seat passenger, described as a 48-year-old man from Richmond, sought hospital care for his injuries.
