Jennifer Smith, Horse Killed in Crash on Van Buren Boulevard near 56th Street

 
JURUPA VALLEY, CA (September 26, 2023) — Jennifer Smith died when her car struck a horse in an accident on Van Buren Boulevard near 56th Street.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal crash happened around 8:45 p.m. Sunday. Under unclear circumstances, Smith, of Riverside, struck a horse that apparently ran loose in the roadway.
 
Moments later, County Fire Department paramedics arrived and found Smith with fatal injuries. The horse that she struck also suffered fatal wounds.
 
Authorities do not know the events and factors leading to the crash, which happened a quarter of a mile north of 56th Street. However, an investigation into this accident should reveal more information.
