11-Year-Old Girl Dies, 3-Car Accident at Highway 41 near Jewels Vista Court [Madera County, CA]

Child Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Highway 41 in Madera County

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (May 6, 2024) — An 11-year-old girl died in a 3-car accident at Highway 41 near Jewels Vista Court.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a man driving a southbound GMC Yukon lost control of the vehicle during wet rainy conditions. Despite the man’s attempt to regain control, he overcorrected before a northbound Chevy Silverado struck the right side of the GMC.
 
Subsequently, a woman traveling southbound on the highway could not avoid the crash and struck the Silverado with her Buick.
 
Moments later, paramedics arrived and confirmed that an 11-year-old girl inside the GMC had died from the accident. Meanwhile, two people in the GMC suffered moderate injuries and two others in that same car sustained major wounds.
 
As for the Silverado driver and a Buick passenger, they suffered minor injuries. Information surrounding the ultimate cause requires further investigation.
