Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver in South LA Crash that Injured Woman and 3-Year-Old Son

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (October 14, 2022)Elsa Zelaya and her 3-year-old son Dominick Zelaya were injured in a hit-and-run crash in the South Los Angeles area on October 1.
 
The crash happened at Broadway and 80th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The two were crossing the street when a black, compact SUV hit them while traveling north on Broadway at a high rate of speed.
 
The impact launched Dominick airborne, causing him to have a secondary collision with the roadway.
 
The mother only had minor injuries while Dominick suffered severe life-threatening injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
The city of Los Angeles offered a standing reward of up to $25,000 for information that will help solve this case.
 
Police urged anyone with information to call Detective Dolores Chavez or Officer Luis Herrera of the LAPD’s South Traffic Division at 323-421-2500.
