Alameda County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Ziller Arrested after DUI Rear-End Crash in Livermore

 
LIVERMORE, CA (November 23, 2022) – An Alameda County sheriff’s deputy is under investigation following a DUI accident on 580 Freeway, Thursday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on November 10, at about 6:40 p.m. A Ford F-450 truck reportedly crashed into the rear of a county-owned BBQ truck near Greenville Road.
 
The impact of the crash caused major damage to the Ford truck.
 
Emergency crews transported the Ford driver, identified as Deputy Michael Ziller, to Eden Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
 
No other injuries were reported.
 
Investigators later found out that Ziller had been driving drunk. Ziller is now under investigation, but he had not been charged with any crime yet.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
