One Killed in Big Rig Crash on Highway 99 at Wilson Road

 
YUBA CITY, CA (November 23, 2022) — A man died in a big rig accident on Highway 99 on Monday, November 21.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Highway 99 at Wilson Road.
 
CHP said a black SUV traveled south on Highway 99 towards Wilson Road at an undetermined speed. Then it collided with the big rig that had been stopped at a red light but started to move forward after the light turned green.
 
Officers said the driver of the SUV, a 37-year-old Yuba City man, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He died from his injuries.
 
CHP said the driver of the semi-truck did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
 
Caltrans urged motorists to take a detour onto Highway 113. It was unclear when the roadway would reopen.
 
The investigation of the crash is still ongoing.
