11-Year-Old Boy Wounded in Pedestrian Crash on Acacia Street

 
SALINAS, CA (August 26, 2021) — An 11-year-old boy suffered minor injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Acacia Street near Riker Street.
 
According to reports, the accident happened around 3:00 p.m. While the boy was coming home from Mission Park Elementary, a black SUV struck him. Due to the force, the boy flew a couple of feet ahead of the car and the lady reportedly stopped the car and opened the car door but took off.
 
As a result of the crash, the child suffered a bruise to his ribs, abrasions and a minor concussion.
 
At this time, reports have stated that the husband of the driver said that his wife decided to leave the scene to tell people instead of run after the boy.
