1 Killed, 2 Injured in High-Speed Accident on Vale Terrace Drive near Williamston Street [Vista, CA]

Driver Dies after Crashing Head-On with Pickup Truck at High Speed on Vale Terrace Drive

 
VISTA, CA (July 25, 2021) – One person died and two others sustained injuries in a high-speed accident on Vale Terrace Drive in Vista Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened just after 1:30 p.m. on July 24, near Williamston Street west of Brengle Terrace Park. Sheriff’s officials said a white Mazda was traveling east on Vale Terrace at a high rate of speed when it lost control. It then collided head-on with a westbound Chevrolet Silverado.
 
First responders rushed the 44-year-old driver of the Mazda to a hospital, where he later died. His identity was not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, a 44-year-old female passenger in the Mazda was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
 
The Silverado driver, a 77-year-old man, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol was a factor. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating this fatal crash.
