Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Accident on 280 Freeway in San Francisco

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 3, 2021) – Officers confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on 280 Freeway on June 1.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Monterey Boulevard at approximately 4:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, the pedestrian fell onto the highway near the Monterey exit. Subsequently, an oncoming vehicle struck the victim. Prior to that, the San Francisco Fire Department said two off-duty nurses saw the person tumble onto the freeway.
 
As a result, the victim died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s name pending kin notification.
 
Consequently, the crash closed at least two southbound lanes of the freeway to give way to a clearing operation.
 
At this point, officers from the San Francisco Police Department and the CHP are still investigating the case. In addition, no other details about this pedestrian accident on 280 Freeway are available.
