Early Morning Hit-and-Run on 5 Freeway in Central LA Involves Two Vehicles, Fatality Reported

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 10, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle hit-and-run on 5 Freeway in Central Los Angeles early Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 2:20 a.m. on May 6, near South Grande Vista. According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Toyota Camry was hit another vehicle. The impact caused the Camry to crash into the center divider. The other involved vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
 
First responders confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The crash also caused major front-end damage on the Camry.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
