Fatal Train Accident on Seventh Avenue in Hesperia

 
HESPERIA, CA (May 10, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a train accident at Seventh Avenue and Dalcoste Street Tuesday last week.
 
The accident happened around 8:22 a.m. on May 4. A Union Pacific freight train struck the pedestrian in unknown circumstances. BNSF officials said the accident took place on BNSF property and was not at a designated crossing.
 
First responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s office will release the identity of the victim once family members are notified.
 
Initial reports did not indicate if the were other injuries sustained in the accident.
 
The BNSF is investigating to determine the factors involved and liability.
