Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Union Avenue

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 31, 2021) – A woman who died in a pedestrian accident Wednesday last week in Bakersfield has been identified.
 
She was 37-year-old Angelina Bernal Esquivel, according to the Kern County coroner’s office.
 
Esquivel was crossing Union Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk when a vehicle struck her around 9:50 p.m., March 24. She suffered major injuries from the impact and died at the scene. The involved vehicle ended up crashing into a fence at a nearby property, police said.
 
Investigators said drugs or alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
