34-Year-Old Sal Fernandez Dies in Crash that Sent Truck into Garden Grove Pool

 
GARDEN GROVE, CA (March 13, 2021)Sal Fernadez was among three people who died in an accident early Friday morning.
 
The accident happened just after 2:00 a.m., March 12, at Euclid Street and Orangewood Avenue. According to the Orange County Fire Authority, a police officer saw a white Dodge RAM truck traveling at high speed in a parking lot before speeding onto the street.
 
The truck then hit a car at the intersection. The impact caused the truck to crash through a block wall and into a residential pool, where it overturned.
 
The second car ended up on its side farther down the street. A sheared fire hydrant can also be seen feet away from the overturned car.
 
Fernandez, 34, and another occupant in the truck, 28-year-old Joseph Mendoza, were killed inside the Dodge.
 
The driver of the car, 39-year-old Michael Clugston, died at to UC Irvine Medical Center.
 
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
