Woman Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on California Avenue

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 23, 2022) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on California Avenue in Bakersfield on Friday morning, August 19.
 
The accident happened around 5:16 a.m. at the intersection with L Street. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the female pedestrian was crossing California Avenue against the traffic signal control device when the vehicle going through a green light struck her.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Speed and alcohol are not factors in the crash. Police urged anyone with further information to call them at 661-327-7111.
