2 Killed, Police Pursuit Results in Multi-Car Crash and Shootout at Grove Avenue in Ontario

 
ONTARIO, CA (May 7, 2024) — Two people died after a police chase resulted in a multi-car accident and a fatal shooting at Grove Avenue and Philadelphia Street.
 
According to Ontario Police, the police chase happened around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. After spotting a suspect connected to a disturbance at a nearby residence, police instructed him to exit the car. However, the suspect — with a history of domestic violence — refused and led police on a high-speed chase.
 
Subsequently, the driver crashed into two other vehicles at Grove Avenue and Philadelphia Street. From there, the man exited the vehicle, fled the scene and attempted to carjack another automobile until police shot the man.
 
Following the incident, paramedics arrived and took the suspect to a local hospital where he died. In addition, they took two of the involved crash victims to a hospital where one of them went home with minor injuries and the other one passed away.
 
Officials did not provide any names.
