SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (May 7, 2024) — At least one person was injured in a multi-car accident involving a big rig on the 5 Freeway near Lambert Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle collision happened Thursday afternoon. Under unclear circumstances, roughly four to five vehicles crashed, including a big rig. Subsequently, CHP officers and paramedics responded to find half the big rig on the freeway and the other half in a creek below after it had fallen.
 
Due to the crash, commuters faced traffic all the way to Elk Grove Boulevard while the Consumnes Fire Department and Walnut Grove Fire Department tended to the injured.
