High-Speed Crash on 5 Freeway in Stockton Leaves 63-Year-Old Woman Dead

 
STOCKTON, CA (September 18, 2023) – A woman was killed in a high-speed crash on 5 Freeway in Stockton Friday night on September 15.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:40 p.m. just south of Country Club Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a golden Cadillac sedan northbound on the highway at a high rate of speed when she veered across all lanes of traffic and onto the east shoulder. She then veered left across all the lanes and crashed into a black Toyota Tundra and into a concrete bridge railing.
 
Paramedics responded and rushed the woman to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
The woman was a 63-year-old Stockton resident. Her name was not immediately available.
 
The driver of the Toyota was unharmed.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
