BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 18, 2023) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Meacham Road near Starside Drive Sunday morning.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the deadly pedestrian accident occurred around 2:38 a.m. For an unknown reason, a man driving a westbound vehicle in the 9500 block of Meacham Road struck a pedestrian walking westbound on the road.
 
As a result of the crash, the unidentified man suffered serious injuries and passed away at the hospital.
 
At this time, authorities do not know what led to the accident. However, they do not believe alcohol or drugs factored into the crash.
