Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 9, 2024) – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach Sunday evening on January 7.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:10 p.m. at Cherry Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department, the woman was crossing Pacific Coast Highway outside of a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her.
 
The impact caused the woman fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
Police said the driver stayed on scene and cooperated during the investigation.
