55-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Twentynine Palms

 
TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA (January 9, 2024) – Christopher Plummer was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Twentynine Palms Friday evening on January 5.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:41 p.m. in the 75000 block of Amboy Road. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Plummer was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
After the crash, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid.
 
Deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded and found Plummer lying in the westbound lane of Amboy Road with significant injuries.
 
San Bernardino County Fire Department administered life-saving measures to Plummer, but he succumbed to his injuries.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large. Further investigation is underway.
