50-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle on East Plaza Boulevard in National City

 
NATIONAL CITY, CA (November 27, 2023) – Randy Lee Gibson was killed in a pedestrian accident Tuesday morning on November 21.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly after 5:10 a.m. on East Plaza Boulevard, just east of 805 Freeway. According to the National City Police Department, Gibson was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
Responding officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Gibson was then taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was 50 years old.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
