Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Several Vehicles Including Hit-and-Run Driver on Highway 99 in Delhi Area

 
DELHI, CA (April 14, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 99 in the Delhi area of Merced County on Friday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:00 p.m. on April 8 just north of West Bradbury Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was hit by a motorist who fled the scene.
 
While the victim was in the roadway, several other vehicles also struck him. Those drivers had stopped and cooperated with authorities.
 
The victim, whose identity is not immediately available, died at the scene.
 
Authorities are still investigating the fatality. They asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the CHP office at 209-356-6600 or after hours at 209-356-2900.
