Man Dies after Struck by Three Hit-and-Run Drivers on San Fernando Road in Pacoima

 
PACOIMA, CA (January 16, 2024) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on San Fernando Road in the Pacoima area of Los Angeles late Friday evening on January 12.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:45 p.m. just south of Montague Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the male pedestrian was crossing mid-block on San Fernando Road when a light-colored pickup truck traveling the wrong-way struck him.
 
The impact of the initial crash sent to the man to the ground. As he was trying to get up, a light-colored full-size SUV also hit him.
 
The man then went flying into southbound lanes, where a dark-colored mid-sized SUV struck him.
 
All three drivers fled from the scene without rendering aid.
 
The pedestrian died at the scene. Authorities only described him as someone in his late 20s or early 30s.
 
Neighbors believe the victim may have been homeless. Video also shows him coming from the spot where an encampment currently sits.
 
A reward of up to $50,000 is available to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest, apprehension and conviction of the hit-and-run drivers, or resolution through a civil compromise.
