Dog Struck Dead by Hit-and-Run Driver in Dowdell Avenue Pedestrian Crash in Rohnert Park

 
ROHNERT PARK, CA (January 16, 2024) — A dog died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Dowdell Avenue near Millbrae Avenue.
 
According to Rohnert Park police officers, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 8:07 a.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a driver left the scene after hitting a dog in the 4000 block of Dowdell Avenue. Fortunately, a pedestrian walking with the dog was unharmed in the crash. Soon after, officers arrived and determined that the pedestrian was unhurt in the accident.
 
According to an investigation, the pedestrian and his dog were walking on the south shoulder when a lifted blue Toyota Tundra truck rammed into his canine. If anyone can help the police with identifying the driver, please call (707) 584-2600.
