Pedestrian Fatality in Hit-and-Run Crash on Campo Road in Jamul

 
JAMUL, CA (April 17, 2024) — A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident on Campo Road near Hillestad Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 11:00 p.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, a driver of an eastbound Audi sedan struck a male pedestrian on Campo Road. Subsequently, the driver pulled over, exited the vehicle and left the scene leaving behind his female passenger.
 
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and rendered life-saving measures on the victim. However, he passed away moments later at the scene.
 
Following the crash, CHP officers questioned the passenger while San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies searched the area for the driver who has not been identified.
