PINE VALLEY, CA (April 17, 2024) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Pine Boulevard near Rocky Pass.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 11:00 a.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a 36-year-old man in a 2016 Ford F-550 veered out of his lane. Subsequently, the northbound Ford struck a 61-year-old woman walking along the right shoulder.
 
Soon after, authorities responded to the scene, east of San Diego, to assess the crash. However, the woman passed away from her injuries. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released her name.
 
Right now, CHP investigators are determining why the vehicle left the road. So far, they have ruled out drug and alcohol impairment as a possible explanation.
