Pedestrian Struck Dead by Stolen Vehicle, Hit-and-Run Car on International Boulevard in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (September 28, 2023) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a stolen car and a hit-and-run driver on International Boulevard near 54th Street.
 
According to Oakland police officers, the fatal pedestrian accident happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, several people in a stolen vehicle struck a pedestrian in the 5400 block of International Boulevard.
 
The westbound car reportedly broke down due to the accident and several occupants fled on foot. Upon impact from the first crash, the pedestrian was pushed farther onto the road, where a second vehicle ran over the victim. That driver, however, left the scene.
 
Soon after, police responded to find the victim with fatal injuries and the suspected driver of the stolen car, bringing that person into custody.
