One Person Killed in Three-Car Crash on 80 Freeway

HERCULES, CA (October 5, 2021) — One person died in a three-car accident on the 80 Freeway near Highway 4 early Sunday.
 
According to reports, the fatal multi-car accident happened around 1:25 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Honda Accord crashed into the back of a Toyota Yaris carrying two people. As a result of the impact, both vehicles spun out on the highway.
 
While the Honda became disabled in one of the lanes, an oncoming Lexus RX350 struck its side.
 
Shortly after, authorities and paramedics reached the scene to find the Honda driver deceased. Meanwhile, emergency personnel transported three people to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
At this time, the crash requires additional investigation. Therefore, anyone with information should contact the California Highway Patrol.
