Fatal Oxnard High-Speed Accident on Bard Road

 
OXNARD, CA (March 19, 2021) — One person was killed in a high-speed accident on Bard Road near Justin Way Thursday afternoon.
 
According to Oxnard police, the fatal accident happened around 1:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 2003 Nissan 350Z and a 2003 Ford Explorer were traveling westbound on Bard Road at a high rate of speed.
 
As a result, both vehicles traveled into the eastbound lanes and slammed into a tree. Subsequently, a fire engulfed.
 
Following the accident, paramedics arrived and pronounced the 28-year-old Nissan driver from Oxnard dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity at this time. Meanwhile, First Responders transported the 30-year-old Ford driver to Ventura County Medical Center with minor injuries.
 
At this time, the accident remains under investigation. However, if anyone has information on this crash, please contact the department.
