HAWTHORNE, CA (May 6, 2023) – A motorcycle officer was hospitalized in a multi-vehicle crash on 105 Freeway in Hawthorne Tuesday afternoon on May 2.
 
The crash happened just after 3:00 p.m. near Prairie Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved a total of five vehicles including a bus and the officer’s motorcycle.
 
The officer, who works with LAX Airport Police, was said to be alert and conscious as he was taken to a nearby hospital.
 
It was unclear if any other parties involved sustained injuries in the crash.
 
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
