Martin Garcia Killed in Three-Vehicle Accident on 10 Freeway [Whitewater, CA]

Three-Vehicle Crash on 10 Freeway in Whitewater Kills One Driver

 
WHITEWATER, CA (March 19, 2023) – Martin Garcia died in a three-vehicle accident in Whitewater Thursday morning on March 16.
 
The accident happened around 8:45 a.m. along the eastbound 10 Freeway, just west of Haugen Lehmann Way. According to the CHP, Garcia was driving a Toyota Sienna and a 47-year-old Victorville man was driving a Ford F650 construction vehicle. The Ford driver slowed down to enter the center median area where construction work was taking place.
 
For unknown reasons, Garcia failed to slow down and crashed into the rear of the Ford. The Toyota deflected off the Ford and crashed into a Nissan in the lane immediately to the right. The Ford was pushed to the left, where its left front crashed into the center median guardrail.
 
Garcia suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 34 years old from Yucca Valley, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
 
Meanwhile, the Ford driver and the 37-year-old female driver of the Nissan from Desert Hot Springs were both unharmed.
 
Officers do not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved. An investigation is ongoing.
