Police Pursuit Ends in Deadly Crash near Yosemite Drive in Oildale

 
OILDALE, CA (September 4, 2023) – One person was killed in a pursuit crash near Yosemite Drive and Lincoln Avenue in Oildale on Saturday morning.
 
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies initiated a brief vehicle pursuit on an alleged stolen vehicle around 9:15 a.m. The suspect vehicle was occupied by two people.
 
The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle lost control and collided with another motorist.
 
Both occupants of the suspect vehicle were treated at local area hospitals with major injuries.
 
The passenger was pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, the occupants of the secondary vehicle were not injured.
 
Further investigation is underway.
