Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 280 Freeway in Hillsborough

 
HILLSBOROUGH, CA (June 7, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 280 Freeway in Hillsborough on Friday afternoon, June 3.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:23 p.m. near the Black Mountain Road off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was initially involved in a solo-vehicle crash and ended up in the center divider. He then tried to cross the freeway when a vehicle struck him.
 
The impact caused the victim fatal injuries and he died at the scene. The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once it has been confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
It was not immediately known if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
