Motorcyclist Dies after Crashing into Car on 15 Freeway in Rancho Peñasquitos

 
RANCHO PENASQUITOS, CA (January 20, 2023) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on 15 Freeway in Rancho Peñasquitos late Friday evening on January 13.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly before 10:47 p.m., just south of Highway 56. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound when he struck a Toyota sedan for unknown reasons.
 
The impact caused the rider to be thrown off the bike, and he died before he could be taken to a hospital. Authorities only identified him as 22 years old from Shenandoah, Iowa.
 
Meanwhile, a Ford SUV also struck the Toyota sedan, which was then hit by a Toyota SUV.
 
None of the drivers were injured. They also did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
 
Investigators were awaiting a toxicology report to determine whether the motorcyclist was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
