OAKLAND, CA (November 20, 2023) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 12th Street in Oakland Saturday morning on November 18.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. on the off-ramp near 980 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking on the roadway when a vehicle struck him.
 
First responders found the victim lying on the roadway and was wearing only underwear. He suffered major trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The identity of the man was not immediately available, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the involved vehicle took off after the crash.
 
Officers later located suspect, but it was unclear if they arrested them.
