Man Hurt in El Cajon Pedestrian Crash on Dehesa Road

 
EL CAJON, CA (May 3, 2021) — A man sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on Dehesa Road near Burgasia Path Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened around 5:30 a.m. A man and a woman were purportedly walking north from the south shoulder of Dehesa Road. For unknown reasons, the man stepped in front of an oncoming 2013 Ford Transit van, driven by a 66-year-old El Cajon male. As a result, the pedestrian sustained major lower-body injuries.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded and transported him to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego while the driver stayed at the scene.
 
At this time, authorities have no information on the ultimate cause of the accident. However, they have ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the crash.
