Rider Sustained Serious Injuries in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 101 near Castillo Street

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (October 24, 2022) — A man had serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101 on Friday, October 21.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 3:20 p.m. in the southbound lanes between Castillo Street and Garden Street.
 
The Santa Barbara City Fire Department said firefighters responded to the scene. When they arrived at the area, they found the rider down in the freeway lanes.
 
The motorcyclist had moderate to major leg injuries, De Ponce said. An AMR ambulance then rushed him to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
 
His identity and further details on his condition were not yet available.
 
Officials blocked the two right-hand lanes of the freeway for a certain amount of time.
