Man Selling Balloons Dies after Struck by Two Vehicles on 25th Street East in Palmdale

 
PALMDALE, CA (October 24, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident at 25th Street East and Avenue S in Palmdale on Wednesday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:10 p.m. on October 19. According to the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, one vehicle was stopped at a traffic light and the other was traveling east on Avenue S at a high rate of speed when it struck the vehicle that was stopped at the traffic light from behind.
 
Both vehicles ended up on the sidewalk and struck the man selling balloons, according to witnesses.
 
First responders rushed the man to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Authorities only described the victim as someone in his 20s or 30s. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will release his identity on a later time.
 
One of the drivers struck a utility pole during the crash and was also hospitalized in an unknown condition.
 
This fatality is still under investigation.
