Hit-and-Run Crash in Redondo Beach Sends Cyclist Lebron Evans to Hospital

 
REDONDO BEACH, CA (September 22, 2022)Lebron Evans was taken to a hospital after a hit-and-run crash in Redondo Beach late Saturday evening, September 17.
 
The crash happened around 11:00 p.m. in the 1200 block of Rindge Lane. According to the Redondo Beach Police Department, the 15-year-old victim was riding his e-bike home with a friend when a pickup truck hit him on the road.
 
The impact partially lodged Evans and his bicycle under the truck’s front grille. The suspect did not stop after the crash, but instead continued driving, dragging Evans about one block before finally stopping.
 
Evans dislodged himself from his bike and scrambled to the sidewalk as the truck finally stops.
 
Moments later, the driver backed up to remove the lodged bicycle before driving away.
 
First responders rushed Evans to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Evans’ mother set up a GoFundMe page to cover the teen’s hospital bills.
 
Police is still investigating the crash. They asked witnesses to call them at 310-379-5411.
